I bought this intercooler about 2 weeks ago because I play for a couple hours straight and bricked my prior 2 60gb launch PS3's (blurays wouldnt read any longer and ylod). So with this slim I decided no matter how quiet it is I was going to acquire a cooling fan when one particular was obtainable for my 120gb slim. So far its really good, in spite of what the previous review stated it match fairly secure (as extended as you dont move the unit about which shouldnt be a problem) and stays flush only point is you genuinely have to stick the ac plug in really tough to push it all they way in the intercooler. It does make the slim louder put not as loud as my old PS3's not a big deal, and immediately after awhile if you do place your hand over the fans you can feel all the hot air it spits out. So when it comes to sucking hot air out it is doing its job. The only key situation I had with it was a couple of days later I noticed it wouldnt turn off following shutting down my PS3, I believed I had a defective unit but figured out what was causing it. The issue was I had remote play "on" so I can get my PSP to turn on my PS3 on remotley as lengthy as i had a world wide web connection, so even though i shut down my PS3 just the fact they wireless connection was nonetheless on the unit (evident by the wireless light nonetheless blinking when the unit is off) despite the PS3 getting shut off it would nonetheless keep the fans on. So turning the choice back off solved that predicament and now the fans shut off when I turn my process off. So if you play for a couple hours straight and want piece of thoughts I suggest you go and buy this. 4 stars for me but 1 star docked for the minor problems of fan not shutting off challenge, ac plug tough as heck to plug in, and minor fan noise.

It was a simple hookup and purchased this "cooler" considering I worried that my investment of numerous hundred dollars could possibly go into melt down. Anyway after a month the fans when the system is turned on started to make a god awlfull loud noise like the a screezeing sound. only after a few minutes does it quiet down. Also the game sound assists to drown out the noise. This is a on once again off again difficulty mainly on. I guess you get what you pay for. I use the playstation in the upright position due to lack of area.
